Senior Automation Engineer

Here’s what the job entails
As Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for driving automation projects within the Life Science and Process Industry to successful completion and delivering technical solutions that meet both Eltronic’s quality standards and our customers’ requirements. You will act as a technical leader, capable of working independently while guiding colleagues through mentoring, collaboration, and coordination.

More specifically, your responsibilities include: 

• Execute and coordinate automation projects, including leading small project teams.
• Ensure high quality, compliance, and adherence to standards at all project stages.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation (FS, test case etc.)
• Contribute to the appropriate architecture and solution in collaboration with the project manager and colleagues.
• Promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and standardization within the team.
• Support the sales organization with technical input during proposals and the sales process.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as a culture ambassador and motivator within Eltronic’s values-driven culture.

Typical tasks

• Programming and commissioning automation solutions both on-site and off-site.
• Analyzing, planning, and prioritizing projects and tasks.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving in complex technical solutions.
• Reviewing colleagues’ work and ensuring quality in deliverables.
• Staying updated on new technologies and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Documenting technical solutions for traceability and knowledge sharing.
• Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues in their professional development.

Your qualifications

• Degree in automation engineering or electrician with solid experience.
• Proven experience in delivering automation projects—preferably within Life Science. 
• Experience with ISA-88 and knowledge of GxP standards is an advantage.
• Proficient in Siemens (TIA Portal, SIMATIC S7 Classic) and Rockwell (Studio 5000, FT View).
• Ability to plan work, coordinate, and maintain oversight in complex projects.
• Independent, yet a reliable team player with great communication skills.
• Motivated to share knowledge and act as a mentor.
