Manufacturing IT Intern (Spring 2027)
At Eltronic, the Manufacturing IT team connects production and IT through control systems, automation, and advanced MES solutions. As an intern, you will become part of the team and turn theory into a concrete solution that can be demonstrated in practice.
Your Assignment
You will develop a fully functional Proof of Concept that simulates a production cell. A modern SCADA platform communicates with a simulated PLC via OPC UA and integrates with the MES platform's Web APIs for job management, job response, and production history.
You will have the opportunity to work with:
- Setting up a simulated PLC and OPC UA server with process data, machine status, and cycle times
- SCADA integration for data collection, events, and production monitoring
- Development of a modern web-based operator interface
- REST/JSON integration with MES, enabling active and upcoming jobs to be displayed and started
- Documentation and evaluation of architecture, data flow, API calls, and best practices
We Imagine That You
Are studying Automation Engineering, Computer Technology, IT, Marine Engineering, or a similar field, and are curious about industrial communication, software development, APIs, and databases.
Experience with OPC UA or SCADA/HMI is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is motivated by the assignment and eager to learn.
